Press Statement of the Chief, PNP PDG ALAN LA MADRID PURISIMA
To our friends from the media, ladies and gentlemen, good morning.
It is with deep honor and pride that I introduce to you a new breed of police officers who exemplify the best and the finest in the police service despite their young age and relatively new experience in law enforcement.
Against the backdrop of President Aquino’s recognition of 38 police officers yesterday for their respective individual roles in Zamboanga, Bohol and Tacloban, we give credit today to four more rookie police officers of the Pasay City Police Station who demonstrated great courage last Sunday (March 30) after they were engaged in a shoot,out in SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City resulting to the arrest of one suspect and wounding of 2 other perpetrators who managed to escape. They are: PO1 Juliet Macabadbad, PO1 Delia Langpawen, PO1 Marcelina Bantiyag, and PO1 Maricel Rueco.
This is a living proof of our dedication to provide “Serbisyong Makatotohanan” to our people that continuously inspire our personnel in the PNP by performing their best beyond the call of duty.
As for the summer vacation, PNP steps-up its security and public safety measures, especially in ports, bus terminals and other areas of convergence, in order to protect the citizens and for them to be able to enjoy their vacation trip to different parts of the country.
We would like to enjoin the media to disseminate this commendable accomplishment, not because we would like to look good to the public but to have more confidence in their police force.
Wala na po tayo sa mga panahon na akala natin ay walang mangyayari kung idudulog natin ang mga insidente sa pulisya. Napakahalaga po ng kooperasyon ng bawat isa, wag po tayong magdalawang-isip na ipahatid ang ating mga daing sa lahat ng pagkakataon –magsumbong po tayo.
