CAMP OLIVAS -- Four members of the notorious Tanglao crime group, including their leader who is a police officer, were arrested in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Porac, Pampanga, Saturday night after allegedly robbing a British national.
Senior Superintendent Marlon Madrid, officer-in-charge of Pampanga Police Office, identified the arrested policeman as Police Officer 1 John Paul Tanglao, presently assigned at the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB3) and a resident of Barangay San Nicolas, City of San Fernando.

Tanglao's companions were Joey Guiao, 46, of Barangay Sta. Lucia, City of San Fernando; Dennis Bigeras, 36, and Mark Navarro alias Mac-Mac, 25, both of Pulong Maragul, Angeles City.
Madrid said a concerned citizen saw the armed suspects assaulted Nigel Witty, a British national.
Police said Tanglao and his cohorts arrived in the victim's residence onboard a sports utility vehicle (Toyota Fortuner) with license plate ZHF 737.
Superintendent Neilo Miro, chief of police of Porac town, relayed the incident to Pampanga Police Intelligence Branch, Special Weapon and Action Team and RPSB3.
Police stopped the suspects who were about to board their getaway vehicle and the victim's Toyota Fortuner (TZY-830).
A rifle (M16 armalite), a hand grenade, one HP laptop, an Apple laptop, one Cignal HD cable box, assorted jewelries, bags and other items were seized from the suspects.
The suspects barged into Witty's residence and robbed the victim's valuables.
Tanglao was wearing a PNP Athletic shirt and Goa pants when arrested, Madrid said.
The group was allegedly involved in several incidents of robbery and carnapping in Pampanga, according to Madrid.
The suspects are now detained at the Pampanga Police Intelligence Branch facing carnapping and robbery charges. (Ric Sapnu)
