PNP, PUP JOIN COLLABORATION ON ENHANCING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
The Philippine National Police (PNP) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) forged an agreement today to further enhance all joint projects on research and development projects and innovations for the PNP Self-Reliance Development or PNP-SRDP.
PNP Chief, Police Director General Ronald M Dela Rosa together with PUP President, Dr. Emanuel De Guzman signed the Memorandum of Agreement at the PNP Ante Room in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
This agreement shares ownership of all joint projects on research and development projects and innovations for the PNP-SRDP in response to the challenges of modern policing, and formulation of responsive and appropriate technical specifications of PNP materials and equipment which are paramount to the technical requirements of the end-users.
PUP, known to be the country’s first polytechnic university, specifically provides comprehensive and quality education and training steered to the needs and requirements of the Directorate for Research and Development (DRD) through assistance in research and development.
Also, the accord enhances the technical and professional expertise of its personnel and students through consultation, deliberation, and sharing of opinions from the point of view as government entities.
The PNP recognizes the need to further enhance its research and development capability, competence on test and evaluation of different PNP equipment, other related technical capability improvement, intended for utilization of the PNP in the conduct of its duties and activities.
