MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Justice (DOJ) is set to conduct an investigation on media men who reportedly received "bribes" sourced from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of lawmakers.

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said on Wednesday, March 19, that the DOJ will "look into" the matter as alleged in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report that 3 prominent media personalities had received bribes disguised as advertising expenses.

MANILA, Philippines—One down, four to go.
The Philippine National Police on Sunday expressed confidence that the remaining four of the “Big 5” high-profile fugitives would soon end up behind bars following last week’s arrest of real estate magnate Delfin Lee.
“The PNP is employing maximum efforts to locate the four other fugitives. The arrest of Delfin Lee is a positive development (toward that goal),” said Senior Supt. Wilben Mayor, spokesman of PNP Director General Alan Purisima.
“Although it may take some time, definitely the long arms of the law would catch up with them. That’s the principle we apply in running after fugitives,” he told the Inquirer over the phone.

MABALACAT CITY, Philippines—Officials and personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) team in Pampanga province were arrested by a CIDG team from Philippine National Police headquarters in Metro Manila on Monday on charges of “recycling” at least 26 kilograms of illegal drugs seized by the police in a drug bust in the province last year.
Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong, CIDG director, led the raid on the team office in Camp Tomas Pepito in Angeles City and arrested its head, Chief Insp. Bienvenido Reydado, other officers and some civilian agents.
“This is really alarming,” Magalong told a news briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City. “But the important thing here is that the PNP is doing something to get rid of [erring officers] from its ranks.”
