SUSPECT FOR MAN KILLED BY STRAY BULLET, DEAD; 4 OTHERS ARRESTED FOR VIOLATION OF RA 10591

For a good father killed by stray bullet, there should be no chance the suspect can hide and not pay for his ruthless action. And for the reliable police officers of Pasay City Police Station, the suspect’s immediate arrest should be made taking into account that he is armed and dangerous.

Through a police operation and service of search warrant earlier today, joint elements of Pasay CPS Intelligence Branch led by PCInsp Rolando Baula, Special Reaction Unit (SRU) led by PSInsp Alan Rainier Cabral, and Pasay Police Community Precinct 3 led by PSI Cosme Tante captured Jeric De Asis at about 6:00 AM in Interior Tramo St., Pasay City for Homicide case and pending warrant of arrest for PD 1866.

De Asis resisted and opened fire at police operatives during the service of search warrant that resulted to his death. He was immediately brought to Pasay General Hospital for medical disposition.

Four (4) others were also arrested during the implementation of Search Warrant for Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions) named as Reynaldo De Asis (with pending warrant of arrest for Frustrated Murder), Mark Louie Mendoza, Susana de Asis, and Gieroll Gaitos.

De Asis was named suspect for the killing of Jimmy Fiel, 59-year old, on August 12, 2014 while he (Fiel) is riding a bicycle along Tramo St. going to Pasay Public Market.

According to reports reaching Crame, on Tuesday (Aug 12) at about 4:00 in the morning, De Asis armed with firearm intercept and treacherously shot Norwel Ortega a.k.a. “Pango” while while riding on his motorcycle going to Libertad St., Pasay City.

As Ortega luckily escaped the gunshot, the bullet that De Asis released fatally hit Jimmy Fiel, who’s simply doing his daily biking routine at the same street where Ortega is passing through, and fell down on the pavement. Thereafter, De Asis fled to the undisclosed place carrying his firearm.

Fiel was pronounced dead at around 7:45 AM on the same day at Pasay City General Hospital who succumbed due to a hit on his chest.

Confiscated during the implementation of search warrant are one (1) cal .45 shooters, one (1) cal. 45 without serial number, one (1) cal .38 Armscor Revolver, one (1) cal .22 pistol, assorted ammunitions for cal .45/cal.38/cal .22, and one (1) pc plate number for motorcycle (9530TK). (PNP-PIO)
