Those arrested represent almost half of the total 603 Most Wanted Persons listed in the NCRPO “order of battle” of suspects wanted by the law for alleged involvement in criminal activity.
Latest to fall were 17 Most Wanted Persons arrested in separate weeklong police operations from March 11 to 17, 2015 carried out by the five Police Districts of NCRPO.
The PNP Directorate for Intelligence (DI), has listed in its database a total of 603 Most Wanted Persons since August 13, 2014 when the PNP launched OPLAN “Lambat-Sibat” as a comprehensive anti-crime strategy that involves intensified law enforcement operations complemented by manhunt operations for wanted persons and aggressive interdiction operations against organized crime groups and loose firearms.
OPLAN “Lambat-Sibat” Campaign is a fussion of different anti-criminality operations like checkpoints, mobile and foot patrols, Oplan Galugad, Oplan Bakal, Oplan Paglalansag Omega, etc. This campaign is in line with the directives of the Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas III to intensify the police operations in Metro Manila with the use of data-driven strategies to solve the rising number of crimes in the metropolis.
In the finest tradition of the international law enforcement community immortalized in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’ motto: “we always get our man”, the PNP shares the same unyielding resolve and commitment to “get our man” and serve the ends of justice, Roxas said.
Earlier, Roxas bared plans to cascade the Lambat-Sibat campaign in “deliberate, programmatic and systematic” manner to different regions after it was proven effective in the Metro Manila. (PNP-PIO)
