PNP slaps illegal drugs raps vs 3 alleged Mexican drug cartel members
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has lodged a complaint against three Mexican nationals believed to be members of the notorious Mexican Sinaloa drug syndicate.
In its referral to the Department of Justice, the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force accused Mexicans Carlos Ochoa alias Ochoa, Jaime Sanchez alias Jaime, and one alias Fernando Jose of violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, or delivery and possession of dangerous drugs.
The PNP said the Mexicans were cohorts of Jorge Torres, who is said to have leased the Leviste-owned LPL Ranch in at Barangay Inosluban in Lipa, Batangas, where authorities recovered illegal drugs in December last year.
The seized drugs were said to have been traced to the Mexican Sinoloa drug ring, which has been tagged by international media as Mexico's most powerful drug syndicate. Authorities estimated the seized items to be worth P420 million.
According to the PNP-AIDSOTF, the three Mexicans were discovered renting rooms at the Swire Elan Hotel along Anapolis Street at Barangay Greenhills in San Juan City, where they have been keeping illegal drugs including those that were later transported to the LPL Ranch. — RSJ, GMA News
