ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP LAMBAT-SIBAT OPERATIONS NEUTRALIZE 24 KIDNAP-FOR-RANSOM SUSPECTS
The AKG significant accomplishment covering the period January to Aug. 26, 2015.
Intensified manhunt operations against
wanted persons through the implementation of Manhunt Charlie and
Lambat-Sibat AKG able to neutralize twenty four (24) KFR suspects.
Seventeen (17) of the suspects were arrested, four (4) were killed while
three (3) surrendered. In addition, twelve (12) personalities involved
in non-kidnapping crimes were also arrested.
Twenty four (24) Kidnapping-for-Ransom
(KFR) cases were reported to and investigated by AKG. Seventeen (17) of
these cases were perpetrated by Other Individuals (OIs) and six (6)
cases by Threat or Terrorist Groups (TTGs). Much lowered as compared to
the Thirty Nine (39) incidents happened on the same period last year.
Seventeen (17) cases were filed at the
Department of Justice. Fourteen (14) were KFR cases, one (1) robbery,
one (1) violation of Anti-Carnapping Act and one (1) Unjust Vexation.
Notably AKG also handled six (6) hoax kidnapping cases, four (4) in
Luzon and two (2) in Visayas.
As a matter of empowering the community
in the fight against the crime of kidnapping, AKG conducted ten (10)
seminars on the Role of Barangay in KFR Prevention and eight (8)
seminars on Community Awareness.

The Group garnered 92.49% in the
compliance stage of the Performance Governance System and was awarded by
the Chief, PNP the Silver Eagle Award on July 27, 2015 during the Flag
Raising Ceremony.
Generally, the AKG
performed well in accomplishing its mandate and in displaying law
enforcement strength in suppressing the country’s kidnap-for-ransom
menace.
