PNP AIDG, PDEA ARRESTS MARINE OFFICER AND CHINESE NATIONAL; SEIZES 320M WORTH OF SHABU


A Marine officer along with a Chinese national were arrested in an illegal drug operation which yielded P320 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) at a house in Manila today.

Suspects were identified as LTCOL FERDINAND L MARCELINO, a member of Philippine Navy (Marines) and YAN YI SHOU aka “Randy”, 33 years old and a Chinese National.

They were arrested at Felix Huertas corner Batangas streets in Sta. Cruz, Manila by the joint operatives of PNP Anti-Illegal Detection Group (AIDG) and Philippine Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The operation was conducted by virtue of search warrant issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court which said that the house serves as a storage facility of illegal drugs.

Confiscated and seized during the operations were, more or less 64 kilograms of suspected shabu placed in four (4) rectangular plastic with an estimated DDB value of Php320M; assorted chemicals; color beige Toyota Camry with plate number XEV-665; and other laboratory equipment.

The confiscated drugs and non-drug evidence were submitted to PDEA Laboratory Service for qualitative and quantitative examination while the suspects will be brought to AIDG Headquarters for further investigation and proper disposition.

Cases for violation of Section 8 and 11 Article II of RA 9165 were being prepared against the arrested suspects. (PNP-PIO)
